Siroua massif 6 days trek: trekking in Siroua Mountain.
Program: Siroua Massif trek 6 Days / 5 Nights
Day 1: Marrakech – Anezal – Tamlakoute
We leave Marrakech early in the morning, crossing Tizi n’Tichka pass at 7,400ft, This pass is the highest road in Morocco, We drive toward Anzal, on the southern slopes of the Atlas and arrive at our accommodation, Gîte d’étape in the village of Tamellakoute. We take a short walk with our guide to explore the village and its surrounding areas and overnight at a home in the village.
Day 2: Tamlakoute – Tamazirt – Ait Tigga
After meeting our muleteers and loading the mules, we start our hike. We cross the village of Tamazirt through a beautiful cultivated plateau to reach Ait Tigga at 6,500ft. We camp near the village. Total hike is about 5 hours.
Day 3: Ait Tigga – villages of Ait Semgane – Aghigha Pass – Tassirouat
We begin in a green valley along small fields of barley and the famous Moroccan saffron. After the village of
Ait Semgane, we start climbing to the pass of Aghigha at 9000ft. and continue with a descent to Tassirouate. We set up camp at the foot of Mount Siroua. Total hiking time is about 5.5 hours.
Day 4: Tassirouat – Sommet Siroua – Tagergra sheepfolds
Today we start with the ascent of Mount Siroua at 10,800ft. Climbing the Siroua has no technical difficulty, but the final section requires some scrambling. At the summit, we take in an incredible panoramic view. Then we descend to our camp next to Tagregra sheepfolds. Total hiking time is 7 hours.
Day 5: Aghbalou n’Tizgui – Tizgui village – The gorges of Tislit
Today we begin our hike by crossing the village of Tizgui with the most beautiful communal storage of the massif. After the green Ait Oubyal Valley, the landscape becomes dry. We cross the villages of Ait Amrane and Ait Sinne to reach the magnificent gorge of Tislit and camp at this location. Total hiking time is 5.5 hours.
Day 6: Tislit – Ihoukarne – Taliouine – Test Pass – Marrakech
The last part of our hike is about 2 hours and takes us to the village of Ihoukarne where the vehicle waits for us. We leave our team of muleteers and head to Marrakech via the road pass of Tizi n’Test at 7,200ft. On the way, we discover the Argan forests and the beautiful Ouirgane valley.
