Day 1- Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Tagdilte
We leave Marrakech early in the morning via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2260m/7,400 feet. This is the highest drivable pass in Morocco. The road leads us to Ouarzazate via the road of a thousand kasbahs and the Valley of Roses. Then we arrive at the little village of Tagdilte, overnighting in the village at the lodge of Gîte d’étape.
Day 2- Tagdilte – Almou n’Ouarg
After breakfast we meet our muleteers and load the mules, we start our hike on an easy path that takes us away from Tagdilte up to the pass of Tizi n’Ouzarzame at an altitude of 2450m/8000ft, There we see an amazing panoramic view of the Valley of Dades and the peaks of the Atlas Mountains. We descend to our camp in Almou n’Ouarg where the nights can be cold and the stars seem especially bright, The total hike for the day is about 6 hours.
Day 3- Almou n’Ouarg – Kouaouch – Oasis Igli
Our trek today begins with a climb to the highest peak of our journey, Kouaouch at 8,500ft, It is tucked between snow-capped mountains and the Sahara desert and the summit offers an impressive panoramic view, Then there is a long and spectacular descent to our camp in Igli Oasis. The total hike is about 5.5 hours.
Day 4- Igli- Bab n’Ali – Tazlout waterfall
We wake up early to enjoy the morning in this beautiful oasis and climb progressively to an amazing view over the Valley of Bouallouz. We follow the river and cross the little gorges of Afourar. We continue our hike until the foot of Bab n’Ali. In the afternoon we visit the waterfalls of Tazlout which is not far away from our camp. Because of the irregular rainfall, we guarantee the waterfall, but not the amount of water. The hike is about 4.5 hours.
Day 5- Bab n’Ali – Ighazzoune – Tifdassine
Bab n’Ali is a legendary area of pinnacles and a natural gate. This was formed by two gigantic red and ochre rocks that tower an amazing 100m/328ft, From the foot of Bab n’Ali we enjoy amazing panoramic views over the Valley of Oussdiden and the desert landscape of Tizi n’Tagourt. Next we cross the pass of Alahyan to reach our camp in Tifdassine. Total hiking for the day is 6 hours.
Day 6-Tifdassine – Handour – Marrakech
We follow the direction of the river and cross the valley of Iggi. There the palm and almond trees on the river banks are in harmony with the adobe villages. It forms a beautiful green against the rough landscape, Our hike ends in the village of Handour where we say goodbye to our team of mule drivers. We drive to Marrakech and pass the Valley of Draa, Ouarzazate and the pass of Tizi n’Tichka. About 2 hours hiking.Overnight we stay at a hotel.
