Program: Saghro Massif Trek 6 days
Day 1: Marrakech – Nekob – Handor
Our trip from Marrakech will begin by transfer by coach to the valley of the Draa, the famous longest valley of palm trees. on the way, we will have time to stop for some pictures in the Atlas mountains. lunch will be either in the valley or Later in Nkob village. Afternoon, we continue to Handor where there is a meeting with the local muleteers; equipment carriers and spend the first night on our trekking trip.
Day 2: Handor (1200m) – Irissi (1680m)
We start our trek by ascent slowly to reach Tifdassine valley, with its impressive rocky ridge. Reaching the mount at 1800m we go up the plateau of Tin Ouayour to look at the magnificent view of the formations around. The descent takes us down the gorge. We camp near the ruins of Irissi, where we enjoy terraces with almond flowers. The hike is approximately 7h30.
Day 3: Irissi (1680) – Ighazzoun (1330m)
Walking Down by a rocky valley we come across the practically deserted village of Berkou where you can find remains of nomadic life. Our journey takes us through the valley of Win Telouine through a river carved in a long rock that leads to the village of Ighazzoun N’ Imlasen. The hike is approximately 6 hours.
Day 4: Ighazzoun (1330m) – Igli (1700m)
Our trek leads us to a large circle surrounded by a multitude of magnificent mountain forms. We cross to the plateau of Tadaout N T’blah from which we have visibility of the Saghro. We descend the valley d’Afourar and head to the village of Igli. Here we will camp. The hike is approximately 6h.
Day 5: Igli (1700) – Almou N Ouarg (2270m)
We climb by a lava flow and between great blocks until we reach the hill of Kouaouch (2592m). At this altitude, we can see spectacular views of the massif. We camp near the spring of Almou N Ouarg. The hike is approximately 7h.
Day 6: Almou N Ouarg (2270m) – Tagdilt (1690m)
Early departure for our final ascent to the pass of Ouarg. We begin our progressive descent towards the village of Tagdilte where the trek ends. Transfer to Marrakech by coach was we will stop for lunch on the way. We arrive at the hotel/riad in Marrakech by late evening.
