Our 8 days desert trip starts from Casablanca and ends in Marrakech city. Desert odyssey commencing in Casablanca and culminating in the vibrant city of Marrakech. Itinerary: 8 days desert tour from Casablanca – Imperial cities and desert in 8 days


Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat

Pick up at the Casablanca airport and start to drive to the city, crossing views of the Moroccan countryside. We stop to visit Hassan II, the biggest Mosque in Africa, the only opening for non-Muslims after. We continue towards the capital city Rabat for the first night.

Day 2: Rabat –  Chefchaoun

Our second day starts with a nice breakfast in the Riad, then our visit to Rabat city starts, by exploring the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V, decorated with stained glass windows, and white marble. We continue to  Hassan Tower, which stands on the hill overlooking the Wadi Bou Regreg. Continue to visit the Oudaïa Kasbah which was built by Moulay Ismaïl from 1672-1727 to protect the city also enclosed by ramparts dating from the Almohad period. The trip goes on to Chefchaouen famous for its vivid blue-rinsed houses and is very popular for both tourists and Moroccans, particularly in the hot summer months. Explore winding lanes and narrow alleys which are home to numerous souks offering cuisine and artisan works. Overnight in Chefchaouen

Day 3: Chefchaoun – Fes

After breakfast in our Riad, we start driving towards Fes City, one of the oldest imperial cities in Morocco. We cross many beautiful landscapes and amazing views towards the city where we stop for lunch. Then you start to explore with the local guide the most beautiful sites in the city such as Karouin mosque, tanneries of the leather, and the medina that has beautiful Souks as well as the museum of Moroccan art. The night will be in a riad.

Day 4:  FES – Volubilis – Meknes

Begin our day by driving towards the archaeological site of Volubilis (Walili). Start discovering the fascinating Roman ruins adorned with beautiful mosaics and colorful tiles depicting Roman mythology. Volubilis has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site and the most attractive site in the region.

We continue to Meknes which was chosen by Sultan Moulay Ismail as his capital at the end of the 17th century. The city was built with 20 gates, more than 50 palaces, and 15 miles of the surrounding wall. We discover some highlights of the city as Bab Mansour Gate, Place El-Hedim (Square of Ruins), and Inania Medersa ( Koranic school). Overnight in a hotel or Riad in Meknes.

Day 5: Meknas – Sahara Desert Merzouga

Early morning we start our desert tour towards the Sahara from the Riad, crossing near the national park of Ifran « the Switzerland of Morocco » as it is called. To enjoy its beauty and to have memorable photos, a break will be taken. Continue heading towards Azrou to see the Barbary Apes monkeys in the cedar forest. Continuing to Midelt for a lunch meal in a restaurant.

By the afternoon, we will cross the pass of Tizi N Telghomt to reach Errachidia, while admiring the views of Ziz Gorges which offers amazing photographic opportunities. Later on, we will have a stop for a panoramic view of Ziz Valley. The drive continues to Erg Chebbi Dunes passing by Aoufous and Erfoud the capital of fossils. After that, we will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi. Arrive at the hotel and get ready for a camel ride for an hour and a half to enjoy the sunset. Overnight and dinner in luxury camp.

Day 6: Merzouga – Todgha Gorges – Dades Valley

If you wake up early enough, the Sahara desert offers an amazing sunrise in Morocco. Afterward, you’ll peacefully ride the camels back to the edge of the dunes, appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes with first lights. We will leave towards Todra Gorges, well known as an important destination for rock climbers and The highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. We can do some walking before driving to  Dades Valley for dinner and accommodation.

Day 7:  Dades valley – Ait ben Haddou – Marrakech

With the different rock forms of the mountain in the valley of Dades, we start our day by making a quick visit to Dades Gorges. We continue crossing the road of thousands of Kasbahs to reach the Valley of the Roses. The Vally is always spectacular in April and May when the roses bloom. We cross Ouarzazate city, then to Ksar Ait Ben Haddou the most restored ksar in the south which is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The visit to the site of Ait Ben Haddou will be a walking tour of 45 minutes. We stop to enjoy lunch in one of the terraces.

We continue to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas mountain range via Tizi N Tichka pass 2260m, with beautiful sceneries towards the small valleys and Berber villages. Arriving at Marrakech late afternoon and night in a Riad.

Day 8: Guided tour in Marrakech

A full-day sightseeing tour of Marrakech, one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco founded by the Almoravid dynasty at the end of the 12th century, it’s always attractive for its unique history and culture. Our guide leads you to discover the most remarkable highlights of the city; Saadian Tombs, Menara, Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia mosque with its minaret, Bahia Palace, the Souks, and the Djemaa El Fnaa Square. Free evening for different activities in the square. Night in the Riad.
