Day 1: Marrakech – Nkob
Your 5 days trekking in Jebel Saghro begins with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech, followed by a scenic drive across the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n Tichka Pass (2260m). Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over valleys dotted with traditional Amazigh villages. After crossing the mountains, the landscape gradually changes as you head south towards the vast Draa Valley, known for its endless palm groves and ancient kasbahs. You’ll stop for a relaxing lunch in this beautiful setting before continuing to the village of Nkob, where you’ll spend the night and prepare for the trekking adventure ahead.
Day 2: Nkob – Bab n’Ali
After breakfast, your 5 days trek in Jebel Saghro truly begins as you meet the muleteers who will carry your luggage throughout the journey. Setting off on foot, you’ll walk through open valleys and rocky landscapes that define the wild beauty of Jebel Saghro. The trail leads you through the peaceful Ousdiden Valley, offering a first immersion into the region’s silence and natural charm. After a lunch break in nature, you continue towards the spectacular Bab n’Ali rock formations, one of the highlights of the region. Your camp will be set at the foot of these dramatic pinnacles, where you can relax and enjoy the sunset after approximately 6.5 hours of walking.
Day 3: Bab n’Ali – Ighazzoun
Waking up to the morning light over the rocky towers of Bab n’Ali, you’ll continue your 5 days trekking in Jebel Saghro through some of the most unique landscapes in southern Morocco. The trail takes you across volcanic terrain and through the striking formations of Tadawt n Tblah, offering constantly changing scenery and wide-open views. This part of the trek highlights the raw and untouched nature of the Saghro Mountains. After around 6 hours of hiking, you’ll reach Ighazzoun, where you’ll camp near a calm river—an ideal spot to unwind, refresh, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains.
Day 4: Ighazzoun – Handor
Today’s journey continues with a steady ascent towards the Tizi Olhyan Pass, offering rewarding views over the surrounding valleys and rugged terrain. After crossing the pass, you’ll descend into the beautiful Tifdassine Valley, where the landscape softens and signs of local life become more visible. Along the way, you’ll pass through small Amazigh villages, giving you a glimpse into daily life in this remote region. The day ends in Handor, a charming area surrounded by palm groves, where you’ll set up camp and rest after approximately 5.5 hours of trekking.
Day 5: Handor – Nkob – Marrakech
On the final day of your 5 days trekking in Jebel Saghro, you’ll leave the mountains behind and begin the journey back to Marrakech. Driving through the scenic Draa Valley once more, you’ll head towards Ouarzazate, where you’ll stop for lunch and a short visit to explore the city’s highlights. In the afternoon, you’ll continue your drive across the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the changing landscapes one last time before arriving back in Marrakech, marking the end of an unforgettable trekking experience.
